Should You Buy Mini Duct Air Conditioner Systems?

New models like the ductless mini split systems have invaded the air cooling market. Despite the introduction of new units, many people still choose traditional mini duct air conditioner systems.

The reason stems from the fact that this type of cooling system is more durable and dependable even when used for cooling the entire house. Although some people say that split systems are much more efficient than the standard ducted coolers, it is important to note that latter is suitable for single room cooling setups.

If you are planning to put a centralized cooling system for your whole house, ducted systems are more suitable. Another good thing about mini duct systems is the fact that they are long lasting. When you buy a mini duct, you can expect it to last for ten or more years, provided that it is properly maintained.

Maintaining mini duct air conditioner systems is also quite easy. Cleaning the ducted system at least once a month or once every two months will ensure that your air conditioner will prolong the lifecycle of your equipment. However, always check the manufacturer's instructions as to what detergents, sponges, brushes, and other materials can be used for cleaning the system.

The common problem that people have with ducted systems however, is with the installation process. In general, the traditional duct units require more work in installing than ductless split air conditioners and mini split heat pump systems. Installing ducted systems may require complicated electrical wiring set-ups which are probably best left to professionals.
