Split Air Conditioner Advantages

There are definite advantages to installing a split air conditioner, especially if you live in a rented apartment or a rented house and you are not permitted to make changes to the actual structure of your home. The only other alternative that may be a possibility in your situation is to look into buying a cheap portable air conditioner, although these sometimes do not work quite as well as a regular street air-conditioner.

Sometimes these type of air conditioning units are called mini split air conditioners. They are a ductless system, which is usually fairly simple to install. Sometimes, in order to limit the use of a central air-conditioning system, people will install them in rooms where they frequent the most. This avoids having to air condition the entire home and can help cut back on expenses considerably. They're also useful to install in a room that has been added on and that is not serviced by central air-conditioning.

Many people find it advantageous to install this type of unit for several reasons. They are small and easy to install. Also it is easy once you have the unit inside to place it wherever you want to in the room.

One basic external unit can easily operate two or more internal units, depending on the size of the overall system. Each of the internal units are operated independently of the other.

The external unit can be hidden out of view from passersby very simply by placing it in a location that is not highly visible.

Although there are some disadvantages to installing this kind of unit they are usually minimal. You may find that you have to pay a little more for this type of system than you work for a window air-conditioning unit. Some people have also mentioned that they are slightly more expensive to run when you have multiple internal units than running central air conditioning -- though that really does vary on what type of central air-conditioning system you have installed.
