Best Air Conditioners

Tired of cold winters and rainy days? You were probably thrilled when the first few days of sun and warmth showed up... And this lasted, like every summer, until summer really hit. If summer regularly exceed 95 degrees where you live, you may find it difficult to stay home, or to sleep at night. And if you live in big city, this can be even worst as there is very little air circulation to cool down the house. This is why air conditioning is often not only a luxury in some areas. Luckily, air cons are not what they used to be. First, they are at least 50% less pricey, and second, they are so much quieter than they used to be. No more having to choose between heat or noise!

Portable vs Window

Choosing a good air conditioning unit is not an easy task. There are many things to look for. Of course, there are central air cons, but those one need to be installed by pros and are much more expensive. Portable air conditioner have the characteristic of being relatively small so they can be move between different rooms (home office during the day and bedroom or living room at night), or a window air conditioning unit, that needs to be installed and put in place only once before the hot season hits.

BTU

On major thing to consider is the size of the room you want to keep cool. This will influence the size of the air conditioner (BTU) you will need to purchase. If you choose an air con unit with too little BTU, your room will never get cold. On the other hand, if you purchase a very high BTU air con unit for a very small 400 square foot room, you will end up using the energy non-efficiently and be paying higher electricity bills for nothing.

Keep cool and help the environment

When choosing an air con, opt for something that is light and easy to use, that is eco-friendly (use environmentally friendly refrigerant gases) and that are energy star. Energy Star products have the property to use the energy in a more efficient way, so you save money on the long run by helping the environment.

What are the Best Air Conditioners

There are many places to look for a good air conditioner. You can shop on the Internet, where you will find competitive prices. You can also shop at your local retailer. While they may be more expensive in store, some people prefers the fact that it is easier to return the product if it does not perform. Kenmore, LG, GE, Haier, Sharp and Frigidaire are only a few of the numerous brands that carry quality air conditioners.

Frigidaire is known to make great window air cons while other brands like Haier or Sharp makes great portable air cons.
