Heat Pump - The Most Efficient For Commercial & Residential Buildings


You may know that a heat pump is a machine that is based on either a mechanical device or chemical substance to heat or cool a building. Such pumps which perform heating operation during the winter and cooling operation in the summer, thus it acts like both an air conditioner and a furnace. It is wise to install both heating and cooling systems, because a single system performs both jobs. This dual feature stands it out from other temperature controllers. But you might get confused at the various names of Geothermal Heat Pump also known as Ground-Source, Geo-exchange, Ground-Coupled, Earth Coupled, Ground Water Source, Well Water, and Solar Energy Heat Pump. All of them are similar in the their operations and almost corresponding in their applications but entirely different in names, in fact, marketing gimmicks in order to distinguish it from other heating pumps.

Applications and Operations of Two Most Efficient Heat Pumps:

Ground source heat pumps is a fascinating option for heating up and cooling up not only commercial but also residential buildings by the virtue of their higher energy efficiency as compared with conventional systems. In the past, heat equipments were more or less unreliable and even clamorous when they got operated. But now scenario has changed. Heating appliances own sharp-edge technology that makes the Pumps more efficient and reliable. Ground Source Pumps have been used for the last several years in developed countries, and the pumps have been installed in several esteemed institutions, universities, and companies where cooling and heating loads are very high, however ground source heat pumps have been performing excellently.

Geothermal Heat Pumps use the earth as a heat source when operating in heating mode, with a fluid (usually water) as the medium that transfers the heat from the earth to the evaporator of the heating pump, thus utilizing geothermal energy. In cooling mode, they use the earth as a heat sink, with Borehole Heat Exchangers that enables Ground Coupled pumps to offer both heating and cooling at possibly any location and in any climate with great flexibility to meet any demands. Geothermal pumps are used to cool a building either small or big and act like a refrigerator, as well as this pump gets applied for heating hot water. Geothermal heat pumps have been in use for about 50 years, now in fact this technology with fossil fuels is being developed for space cooling. More over these pumps consume up to 44% less energy than air-source heating appliance.
